Which zodiac signs are compatible?
In Western astrology, signs of the same element are often described as compatible: fire with fire, earth with earth, air with air, and water with water. Fire–air and earth–water pairings are also commonly described as complementary. This is a symbolic starting point, not a prediction of whether a relationship will work.

Which signs share an element?
Fire: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Earth: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Air: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Water: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. For example, Taurus and Virgo share the earth element; that does not make them automatically a better couple than any other pairing.
Can supposedly incompatible signs have a good relationship?
Yes. Communication, trust, values and behavior matter in real relationships. A Sun-sign pairing cannot tell you whether someone will be a caring partner, and should not be used to rule a person in or out.
What is synastry?
Synastry is the astrological comparison of two birth charts. Astrologers may consider the Moon, Venus, Mars and aspects between placements, rather than only Sun signs. It is more detailed within astrology, but that does not make it a scientifically established relationship assessment.
Why do compatibility websites disagree?
They may use different placements, aspect rules, weights or interpretive traditions. A compatibility percentage is not a measured probability of relationship success. La Lune does not assign a scientific-looking score to a couple.
